15 Hands, over 1200 pounds, this was the stallion brought in by Randy Wright to replace Coopers Poco Oro. Ty Was a very outstanding using horse, cutting, rope (head, heel, pasture, doctoring), and had a lot of heavy fighting cattle & bulls tripped off him. In 1993 his back was popped out of place while loading heavy cattle and ruint him for heavy use. (He did continue winning money in the head and heel sides for others, in the late 90's Steve Wiggins, WW Quarter Horses used Ty some as a calf roping horse while he stood as their senior herd sire). Again Randy was looking for a herd sire that could stand up to " Me & Hell 24 Hours A Day". After looking almost a year,he ran across a ad for Wagon Wheel Quarter Horses, it said Joe Hancock, Old Sorrel, Mr San Peppy genetics, after a call to Fred Gist & Mr Gist talking him into driving down to take a look, which wasn't easy, this one trip changed the breeding programs both horses & dogs. " Mr Gist gave me the tool I needed to keep EXACT track of all our line breeding, the Genetic Inheritance Statistic System. We know the exact blood percentages and number of times any animal is in a pedigree, and actually helps us know where the line breeding stops and pure inbreeding starts. 3/8/09. We started Ranchera in 07, rode him 15 times or so. Had a bad year, in the hospital as most know twice, laid off him until Jan. 08. We received a lot of rain, my lungs went back to acting up so I again laid off him after about 8 rides. He has never offered to buck, fast learner, and retains everything The purpose in these 3/8/09 photos is simple, this is the first time Ranchera has been saddled and ridded since 1/08. He really did nice, hadn't forgotten a thing, there were 2 mares about thirty feet away from the round pen, he never paid any attention to them, his mind was right in the middle all the time.
